Quickly approaching their third anniversary it was for the sixth time that lunch was catered by Big B’s Texas BBQ on Wednesday, and much like every other time the service was timely and professional with everything including serviceware, plates and napkins in abundance, not to mention more than enough smoked Meat and Sides for a group of twenty-five.
Located all the way across town but more than capable of distance delivery, an array of packages built to suit parties ranging from ten to the thousand Natalia and Brian will be serving for Thanksgiving, it was this time via EZcater instead of direct from the Restaurant that an order was placed due to speaker’s requirements, but in their typically personalized manner delivery was made by Big B himself as staff lined up with plates in hand.
Guaranteed to leave lunch rooms and hallways scented like burning wood straight out of Texas, the couple who hand-built their Restaurant at 3019 St. Rose Parkway famously making regular trips South for more of The Lone Star state’s finest timber, it was beginning with gooey Mac n’ Cheese plus chunky Potato Salad that most began filling plates, Creamed Corn a tougher sell to those of Hispanic backgrounds who apparently are not familiar with such though the sweet and tangy Beans imbued with Brisket scraps was also quite popular.
Moving on to main event, five styles of smoked Meat from which lean Brisket is most sought-after, it was happily letting others get their fill that more experienced folks zeroed in on the heavily marbled cuts plus finely shredded Pork, moist Turkey Breast and snappy smoked Sausages.
Accompanied by fluffy Rolls, Sauces, Condiments and Cornbread, future orders apparently requiring more of the latter, it was by special request that a Sandwich from Big B’s #secretmenu was also delivered, the Cheesesteak featuring Tri-Tip, Peppers, Onions and melted Provolone hands-down the best tasted locally while Pecan Pie also challenges any in Sin City thanks to plenty of candied Nuts atop a jammy base.
N/A: Making it blog policy to not ‘rate’ places based on catering alone it speaks volumes that staff actually requests Big B’s by name while Pharmaceutical Representatives go out of their way to place orders at other offices as well, the fact that a disastrous delivery from Famous Dave’s is what forced the entire #supportlocal lunch idea making what Natalia and Brian are doing all the more impressive.
RECOMMENDED: Fatty Brisket, Hot Links, Smoked Turkey, Cheesesteak Sandwich, BBQ Baked Beans, Creamed Corn, Cornbread, Pecan Pie.
TIP: Honestly, there is no better dollar-for-dollar catering value in town and if you want to make Thanksgiving extra easy and delicious why not consider letting Big B’s do the work: www.bigbztexasbbq.com/thanksgiving/
