Expanded from the single store visited in 2014 Emporium Pies is now nothing short of a Dallas icon, Megan Wilkes and Mary Sparks’ creations now changing seasonally and occupying several storefronts including a fortunate location next to Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum.
Still with no preservatives, corn syrup or artificial colors across the collection, though this newer location lacks the cute décor and friendly demeanor of Bishop Arts, it was in exchange for $16.25 that two small slices were received, Emporium’s “Hot Cake” less custardy than Chess over buttery Crust while “Melted Snowman” tastes a whole lot like Oreo Cookies dunked for too long in a glass of Milk.
