Last visited in 2010, but dozens of times prior, Uncle John’s Pancake House is the only remaining independently-owned Restaurant on the Secor strip from the 70s, their popularity firmly cemented and still generating a crowd daily.
Outliving “Cinema 1,2, and 3” and Allied Records, frequent stops before or after, 2022 finds little changed at Uncle John’s save the sign, check-in at the hostess’ podium forever pleasant and tchotchkes plus old photos making the experience more homey.
Anything but fancy, paper menus and heavy plates anchoring Diner favorites, service is no less gracious than a Michelin starred Restaurant while springy a German Crepe for $4.99 and Pancakes with all the fixins for $3.99 are underpriced yet flawless.
