Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery
Maple Bourbon Pecan, Gooey Butter Cake, Salted Crack Caramel on a Waffle Cone
Described as a “modern microcreamery,” Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery sells its concept with alcohol-infused flavors that change seasonally, but what really stands out is the smoothness of owner Tamara Keefe’s base and a zero-waste ethos.
Established in 2017, but a lifelong passion of its matriarch who claims to “think, feel, talk, and dream Ice Cream,” it is at the end of South 18th Street that guests will find the small space inside a former townhouse, a rainy Black Friday predictably quiet which allowed extra time to chat with staff and try samples of flavors such as “Decadent Coffee” and “Tequila Chocolate Mole.”
Offering boozy bites to only those 21+, a “special” process used to freeze high-proof Liquor without turning icy, it was after some debate that the three-scoop “moyen” size was selected, a housemade Waffle Cone pushing the pre-tax total to $7.50 for beautifully balanced Maple Bourbon Pecan plus sweet and creamy Gooey Butter Cake and best-selling Salted Crack Caramel with crunchy bits that made each lick a little different from the others.
