Coffee

High pH Smoothie – Spinach, Mango, Cucumber, Honey

Mango Pancakes – Buttermilk Pancakes, Fresh Mango, Powdered Sugar

Pinky’s Breakfast Sandwich – Baguette, Fried Eggs, Sharp Cheddar, Ham, Garlic Pesto Mayo

Recently re-opened under original ownership on Ashford Avenue, several relocations over the years also finding a sister on Calle Loiza, Pinky’s is arguably one of San Juan’s most popular eateries – the debate largely because extremely limited seating makes it difficult for all but early risers and those with a lot of patience to dine there.

Known for All Day Breakfast and substantial portions, queues forming shortly after Pinky’s 7:00am opening lasting until 4:00pm, it was early Saturday that a two-top was scored next to the register, a sizable menu augmented by specials posing tough choices including Wraps, Sandwiches, Pancakes, Smoothies and more.

Offering both healthy and gluttonous options, a “High pH” Batida arriving along with extra in the blender quite refreshing while Coffee proves acrid as Folgers’, it was after being informed that no Mallorca were available that decisions were made – the next ten minutes spent watching a lone line-cook prepare several tables’ Food with great dexterity.

Playful in terms of décor, two servers in “Eat Me!” t-shirts whizzing by nonstop, expect eyes to widen when plates arrive, Pinky’s Breakfast Sandwich occupying a half-Loaf of Bread with Eggs, Cheddar, Ham and aromatic Mayo while the triple-stack of Mango Pancakes for just $7.50 in an undeniable bargain provided one does not mind “Fake Maple Syrup.”
