The Serving Spoon, Inglewood CA

The Serving Spoon

Fried Catfish, Waffle, Butter

Cornbread, Honey, Butter

A part of Inglewood since 1983 The Serving Spoon was originally opened by Ohio-native Harold Sparks, his dream of opening a Soul Food Restaurant fulfilled and family still in charge to this day.

Now managed by Harold’s daughter and son-in-law, “Love At First Bite” still the motto and signs throughout inspiring positive thoughts, it is from 8a-2p daily that guests can find favorites served amidst cozy confines as Soul plays at the bar with Sports on TV.

Using Friends or Family to name combo plates, perfectly fried Catfish and a crispy Waffle dubbed “Sparks,” it is with Hot Sauce on the former that bites disappear quickly while Cornbread on the side is cut a bit small but toothsome, moist and ready to sop up Honey plus Butter.
