Although Canada is better known for Butter Tarts the cultural mix of Vancouver makes Egg Custard more common, and at Marui Bakery inside the London Drugs complex on Kingsway warm Dan Tat for $1 are absolutely flawless from the flaky buttered Pastry to their pale yellow Filling.
Family owned for over a decade, the shop itself nothing to look at but everything made on-site and service friendly enough, it is alongside the semi-sweet Custard that Marui sells Buns and Cakes, the former each soft and fluffy inside their packaging with Coconut and Red Bean for $2.25 each both highlights.
