An idea hatched in 2013, when a Swede named Jonathan Larsson began selling Waffles from the window of his bedroom to offset Oslo’s cost of living, Haralds Vaffel has inhabited Grünerløkka consistently since 2019 and remains a staple for quick eats to locals and visitors alike.
Focused on the Norwegian Waffle, thinner and softer than those of Belgium with less rise than versions sold in America, guests are invited to choose from a variety of toppings ranging savory to sweet and with or without Ice Cream.
Lightly sweet with a hint of Cardamom, the Waffle’s softness nearly akin to a Crepe, “Superclassic Recommendation #1” features Raspberry Jam and Sour Cream spread halfsies while three slices of Brunost from the block add hints of Caramel.
