Maple Long John
Cinnamon Crumb Cake
Glazed Old Fashioned

Apple Fritter
Located along the route from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in the small town of Barstow California, Frosty’s Donuts is the de facto recommendation for ‘best donuts in town,’ and with early morning hours, occasionally even 24-hours a 4:50am stop found several donuts hot and fresh, the overnight staff busying themselves with frying between bouts of Street Fighter on the Xbox, a steady stream of patrons intermittently stopping in.
Small in size, but featuring a bevy of options inclusive of all the standards, it was with a half dozen +1 order that energy stores were replenished and with four of seven options freshly made the results were almost universally impressive for an oldschool mom n’ pop doughnuttery, only the minimally filled Bearclaw entirely unworthy of order while both raised options were light as a feather and really quite exemplary.
Personally a fan of cake donuts, particularly the simple standards of shops dating back to the beginnings of fried dough, it was certainly a result of good fortune that our time of arrival saw both crumb and old-fashioned still warm with the former featuring a robust spice profile while the later was rich and creamy, the buttermilk bar ever so lightly tangy beneath a crispy sugar enamel and the fritter completely devoid of oiliness with a whole lot of cinnamon plus even more apple.
