Opened in 2013, and perhaps better known for the attached Karaoke Q Studio, 2020 finds Q Bistro still doing good business in the 3400 South Jones Boulevard complex where their “Pizza Chicken” signage hangs proudly amidst stalwarts like China Mama while other concepts have come and gone.
One of Sin City’s most popular Korean Restaurants, a unique and well-priced menu differentiating Q Bistro from an ever-growing list of KBBQ spots, it was via online ordering that six items were requested Saturday, each found temperature appropriate and ready to go precisely when promised.
Including complimentary Banchan, everything from medium-spicy Kimchi to slick Glass Noodles individually packaged, it was with “Whole Chicken” tossed in Gochujang, Mayo and Sesame that lunch was underway, crispiness somewhat lost to Saucing but otherwise quite good while Pan Seared Beef was tender atop sautéed Onions and Jalapenos.
Relieved to find Corn Cheese still piping-hot and stretchy, the traditional Korean side quickly gone by the spoonful, more Mozzarella was found atop an entirely unique Pizza – its unleavened Crust a bit disappointing though seasoned Bulgogi and Sweet Potatoes with creamy Sauce were both enjoyable.
Priding themselves on quality and consistency, contactless pickup and staff donning PPE executed perfectly, those seeking more traditional plates will find themselves impressed by a generously-portioned Rice Roll for $7.99 and a “Seafood Pancake” that features plenty of Shrimp and Squid alongside Scallions perfumed by Soy.
THREE AND A HALF STARS: Fair-priced and decidedly unique, Q Bistro continues to thrive amidst the pandemic, their variety appealing to novices while more authentic plates are executed properly.
RECOMMENDED: Corn Cheese, Seafood Pancake, Bulgogi Kimbab.
AVOID: Pizza Crust is a fairly underwhelming par-bake.
TIP: Available for take-out and delivery through all the usual apps, or use Q Bistro’s website to save 10% and put more money in the Restaurant’s pocket.
WHAT THE STARS MEAN: 5 World Class, 4 Excellent, 3 Good, 2 Fair, 1 Poor.
