Established in 2017, and still San Juan’s only artisan Donut Shop, Kudough’s is currently operating under limited hours, though offerings seem largely unchanged throughout the pandemic save for a few daily specials.

Now opening at 10am Tuesday through Sunday, strangely late for Breakfast Pastries considering the central location on Calle Loiza, guests visiting will find several styles if Coffee along with just five varieties of Donuts, Kudough’s idea of “Cold Brew” in reality tepid Coffee poured over Ice and immediately watered down.

Cute in terms of decoration, the lone clerk a friendly young woman happy to explain Kudough’s “variety,” it is at about $4 each that Donuts all feature a similar raised base, good size and lightness most evident in a simple glazed ring while others featured what tastes like commercial Frosting, the Guava Gel in particular cloyingly sweet while S’mores at least found some balance from toasted Marshmallows.
