From the team behind Mrs. Robinson’s Café Frieda is an all-day hangout promising “market-driven plates plus curated music,” the Breakfast menu fairly limited with precious pricing and staff whose attitudes match the hipster clientele.
Located on Lychener Strasse in Prenzlauer Berg, the former site of “Frida Kahlo” suggesting its name, Café Frieda opens at 10h00 but only offers the “all-day” menu from noon, early arrivers instead limited to housemade Sourdough and tiny Pastries barely sharable by two.
Changing the bill of fare frequently, an Insta-famous Buckwheat Croissant replaced by various slivers of Cake in a place where “we don’t serve tap Water, only bottles” is a thing, expect to pay approximately €1 per mouthful for trendy “Basque” Cheesecake without the rumpled char of Spain or forgettable Pound Cake while a Black Cacao Fudge slice offers silk-smooth texture and almost no Sugar or Flour but manages to succeed anyway.
