Although few but those staying inside Paradise Tower and former ReHab attendees likely know it is there, Fuel Cafe at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino offers fresh Sandwiches, Coffee and more, including several Pastries from Chef Mickey Harden.
Best seen as a grab n’ go operation, though a standing bar inside and comfortable couches just a few feet away are ready to greet those who wish to relax, it was several hours after Brunch at Pink Taco that a half-dozen items were enjoyed as an afternoon snack, first bites of Coffee Cake topped by and wrapped around Pecans immediately impressive in terms of its buttery sweetness and diverse textures.
Next taking a taste of Trail Mix, an all-natural amalgam of Almonds and toasted Coconut bound by dried Fruit, those focused on getting their Protein without Meat should consider Dark Chocolate and Peanut Butter holding together Soy Crisps while those more interested in indulgence should steer their sights towards a Peanut Butter and Jelly Bar that spins a childhood favorite as Dessert with extra sweetness and no Crust.
Sold at just $4 a slice, or approximately half what Milk Bar at The Cosmopolitan charges for items of equal heft and creativity, Mickey packs all the elements of a Birthday Cake into Fuel’s “Funfetti Cookie Bar” complete with Frosting while the seasonal Strawberry Lemonade Blondie is moist, dense and tangy beneath Streusel topping that add a subtle buttery-ness to what otherwise reminisces of Chess Pie.
FOUR STARS: Somewhat secluded, but worth seeking out thanks to Chef Harden’s skills, Fuel Café offers another example of how Hard Rock Hotel & Casino forgoes shortcuts to give guests more than they expect, even on the go in a space most visitors don’t realize exists.
