Having previously discussed Johnny C’s Diner here, plus nine faultless catering gigs, it was an honor to call on Chef Church and his team for another #supportlocal Lunch on Monday, Johnny himself arriving on time with a bounty of items carefully packed and temperature appropriate from fifteen minutes away.

All-in approximately $20 per diner, a cost more than warranted by quality Produce and portions that guaranteed several staff members also went home with dinner, it was mostly from the current menu that lunch was constructed, Johnny’s Seasonal Market Salad now even more diverse thanks to Roasted Tomatoes, Strawberries, Pomegranate and Drunken Onions.

Diving next into two Sandwiches, enjoyed alongside a handful of Johnny C’s buttery housemade Potato Chips, it was by suggestion that Chef Sam Brooks tried her hand at a Monte Cristo, the lack of Jam and deep-frying overcome by quality Proteins and Cheese while those who abstain from Pork were treated to flavor-bomb Grilled Cheese with Brie, Apples, Spicy Honey and Walnuts.

Next satisfying a craving with Chicken Fried Steak and fluffy Buttermilk Biscuits, Sin City’s best even before a scoop of peppered Pork Gravy, those who believe “everything is better with Bacon” will find their opinion validated by “Fat Elvis French Toast” adding fresh California Strawberries to a griddled rendition of the King’s favorite indulgence.

N/A: Making it blog policy to not ‘rate’ places based on catering alone, Johnny C’s combination of products and talent is nothing short of remarkable while the price-point is an undeniable bargain for quality Cuisine capable of pleasing a wide range of palates.

RECOMMENDED: Chef’s Seasonal Market Salad, Chicken Fried Steak, Potato Chips, Grilled Cheese, Fat Elvis French Toast.

AVOID: N/A.
