Although many will say dining in Bora Bora is expensive it certainly needn’t be, between various Snack, Roulotte and Food Trucks plus weekday roadside stands.

Focused here on the latter, though certainly less abundant than Tahiti, two popular spots for locals to grab Breakfast are from a white van in front of Vaitape’s Protestant Church and North of the bend near Pofai Bay.

Predictably cash only, both locations charging roughly 2000xpf per item, everything from the van is made daily by a man with a heavy French accent, his Croissant a bit affected by humidity while the Raisin Curl performed better, though the real standouts were glazed Brioche and a weighty Danish with Cream Cheese.

Onward to the stand, a young woman who doesn’t speak English or have bags setting up at 6:00am Monday through Friday, it is here that workers line up each day for Sandwiches and Baguette, though the real stars are crumbly Coconut Cake and a soft Waffle folded around Nutella.
