Almdudler Original

Sandwiches

Continuing a tradition begun in Poland it is from Buffet Trzesniewski that the Viennese have sought Sandwiches since 1902, the location on Dorotheergasse open daily from mid-morning to dinner with over two-dozen toppings offered on small rectangles of Rye Bread.

Created by Franciszek Trzesniewski of Kraków, his goal of quality and convenience carried on today, it is once inside the iconic space that decisions abound, a “Pfiff” of Beer ordered by most to accompany two bites of Carrot with Cream Cheese or Pureed Mushrooms depending on one’s tastes.

€1.50 each, often-times with Eggs and stripes of Liver or Fish, Beets come liberally tinged with Horseradish while Cucumbers are mixed with pickling spices that are poignant but not to be confused with Relish.
