Begun by Italian immigrant Attilio Santini in 1949 Gelados Santini now inhabits six storefronts from Chiado to Porto, and although some will suggest world-class quality the reality is that the product is merely average while service is perfunctory.
Originally in Praia do Tamariz, and now under the ownership of Eduardo Santini, it is in an area of high foot traffic that guests are invited to duck in for cup or cone, scoops rather than spatulas packing dense balls of Dulce de Leche and Fig with bits of ground Fruit.
