Open for just three months, a recent Menu change separating early from later telling of Southwest Las Vegas’ palate more than any intrinsic issues with Joshua Clark’s Food, it was for the second time that catering from The Goodwich on South Buffalo Drive impressed guests on Tuesday, this time from the Breakfast Menu that is now offered seven days a week.
Adjusting hours to 7:30am-4:00pm Monday through Friday and 10:00am-5:00pm on Weekends, Sundays adding Brunch specials, it was coordinating through Nichole Hall and GM Luke Anger that several trays arrived minutes past 11:30am, the forgetting of plates at first problematic but quickly overcome when leftovers were located from another Restaurant the previous week.
Ideally located less than a mile away, each of seven selections arriving temperature appropriate, it was after uncovering dishes and snapping photos that diners dug in, Brioche sliders topped in Tempura-battered Chicken, Greens and Gravy drawing fond comparison to Saag by an Indian colleague while Corned Beef Hash teaming with Black Pepper, Onions and buttery Potatoes proved a hit amongst younger employees.
Discussing business between bites, yet another Big Pharma Representative originally from California highly praiseful of the office’s #supportlocal efforts, it was atop Biscuits a bit thinner than those featured on The Goodwich’s Social Media that Country Gravy was ladled, the flavor everything a Southerner might want while Bacon, Egg and Cheese found levity in lightly spiced Aioli on toasted Marble Rye.
Not about to forego “dessert,” two served buffet-style with the finale offered as it is inside the Restaurant, fans of “Pumpkin Spice” everything will be thrilled to know Chef Clark’s Pancakes with pureed Pumpkin and sweet Mascarpone are as full of flavor as they are fluffy while French Toast made from Custard-soaked Almond Croissants is also delicious, though not quite as much as a Carrot Cake Waffle topped with Raisins, Walnuts, sugary Streusel and Pure Maple Syrup.
N/A: Making it blog policy to not ‘rate’ places based on catering alone The Goodwich Southwest presents a great value considering ingredient quality and portions while Josh Clark’s creativity far surpasses anything within several miles of the Restaurant whether at Lunch or Breakfast.
RECOMMENDED: Fried Chicken Breakfast Sandwich, Corn Beef Hash, Pumpkin Spiced Pancakes, Carrot Cake Waffle, Baked French Toast.
AVOID: Biscuits did not look like those featured in the Restaurant and came off harder and less layered than would be ideal.
