Serving Las Vegas since 1988 Paymon’s Restaurant is as close as it gets to a local “institution,” its longevity attributable to fair prices and the sort of Food that is “ethnic” but familiar and focused on good products made fresh daily.
A labor of love from Paymon Raouf, the decision to change from a “Mediterranean Café” to a “Fresh Kitchen and Lounge” in 2020 seeing the menu expand into Indian and Italian options, plates still focus on healthy preparation eschewing additives and preservatives with options to suit most dietary preferances.
Ordered as delivery, everything arriving temperature appropriate in individual packaging, the first thing one will notice is that instead of just Rice the Kabobs arrive with Roasted Vegetables and Potatoes with limited Salt but lots of seasoning to match moist but well-cooked Meats.
Teamed with Jeff Ecker since 2000, a number of accolades earned since, Paymon’s Hummus arrives smooth with lots of Garlic matched to Tahini, though Pita is unfortunately no better than the store bought stuff.
Looking next at Fesenjan, decent but a far cry from Zaytoon in terms of taste or consistency, dueling Desserts perform well whether one prefers thick Baklava with Walnuts or large-grain Rice Pudding with Whipped Cream on top that eats light like the versions in France.
Founded in early 2021 Milpa has come a long way since it took over the former Elia space at 4226 South Durango Drive, Chef DJ Flores’ embrace of traditional techniques with an eye towards health-conscious cooking earning a James Beard Award semi-finalist nod in 2024.
Open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with an odd location in the lot of a Strip-mall, easily missed despite the fact that Chef Flores is cooking some of the best contemporary Mexican Cuisine in Sin City, guests will find the interior quaint while service is both efficient and charming.
Recently forming Nivel Hospitality Group with Aaron Cappello, their bar called Nocturno earning positive reviews in the Arts District, Milpa remains part Molino and part sit-down Café with stone-ground housemade Tortillas and slowly-braised Meats a point of pride.
Simple in signage, Milpa Mexican Cafe in yellow over the door, most Entrees hover in the $15-20 range with both Barbacoa and Beef Birria with Consomme showing the sort of depth one might expect of a Vegas native with skills developed under thinkfoodgroup and Too Hot Tamales before staging at Quintonil in Mexico City.
Achieving the rare trifecta of healthy, affordable and delicious, all while utilizing time honored techniques plus many local Ingredients, handmade Tortillas are medium-thick, soft and with the perfect amount of flex while Corn Esquites paired to Chips channel Elotes minus all the Mayonnaise.
In a city with over one-hundred Red Sauce Italian Eateries the Italian American Club Restaurant receives a hefty amount of love for its vintage atmosphere and Rat Pack era vibes, but judged on the merits of Food and Beverage there are far better places to spend one’s time and money.
Attended for a birthday, the private dining area converted into a banquet hall complete with live music and dance, staff is professional and courteous while the layout sees a noteworthy bottleneck for those trying to get a drink.
Served Buffet-style, the antipasti station highlighted by marinated Artichoke Hearts and Mortadella but brought down by stale Bread, Penne and Rigatoni are clearly made with boxed Pasta while decent Meatballs outpace Steak was overcooked and flavorless.
Priced on par with places like Al Solito Posto, though lacking even a fraction of the craftsmanship or quality, consider this for a night when “scene” matters more than what is served, though in that case Ferraro’s or The Bootlegger are much better.
86th Street Square Pie – Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato Sauce, Romano Cheese, Olive Oil, Old School Pepperoni
Cannoli
Serving Las Vegas for over forty years one might well assume Metro Pizza has the take-out game down to a science, and even now with more competition than ever John Arena and Sam Facchini’s Pizzeria remains irreproachable in terms of customer service and quality.
Fatty Brisket, Lean Brisket, Smoked Turkey Breast, Beef Hot Links, Jalapeno Cheese Hot Links
Banana Pudding
Open from 11:00am until 9:00pm daily, and Sin City’s best place for Barbecue ever since the Henderson original debuted in January 2016, it was for lunch on Monday that the smell of Big B’s Texas BBQ filled the downstairs, staff quick to gather for an abundance of smoked Meat, Dessert and Sides from the 2025 Sahara location.
Named after its Pit Master and changing the long-held belief that Las Vegas is not a Barbeque town ever since the original opened, Big B’s Texas BBQ features the work of Brian Buechner and Natalia Badzjo, the husband and wife team taking a hands-on approach to every aspect of the operation from build-out to driving in fresh piles of wood as needed from the Lone Star State.
Available for dine-in, take-out, catering and delivery, all presented by one of the most pleasant teams in town, over-ordering is easy regardless of preference for Pork or Beef including Ribs, pulled-style or Brisket with a good smoke ring whether fatty or lean.
Texas through and through, the aforementioned wood just one reason why Big B’s Proteins outpace growing competition, sides are highlighted by Creamed Corn and thick-cut Onion Rings plus Sin City’s best BBQ Beans and Mac n’ Cheese.
Never forgetting Cornbread that seems to get better every time Dessert is a pick ‘em including Pecan or Apple Pie, Chocolate Cake or fresh made Banana Pudding as good as any one will find down South.
Arguably Sin City’s eldest purveyor of Fried Dough Friendly Donut House remains a Henderson staple for good reason, opening hours as early as 4:00am daily finding shelves full of fried Dough paired to pleasant customer service.
The sort of place built for Veterans to linger over Coffee, a strip-mall on South Boulder Highway playing host to regulars for decades, fans of classics will find lightly fried Yeast rings beneath Glaze while those who favor Cake can choose Vanilla or Chocolate with Sprinkles, Cinnamon Crumble or plain.
Also offering Longjohns and Bismarcks, the later piped with Cream or Custard, Buttermilk Bars are textbook thanks to penetrant Sugar plus Icing in a variety of flavors while the Bear Claw and Apple Fritter are easily Sin City’s best and well-worth the drive, cost and calories thanks to the golden exterior and Cinnamon-spiced Fruit inside.

Teamed with Jeff Ecker since 2000, a number of accolades earned since, Paymon’s Baba Ganosh arrives chunky with lots of Garlic matched to bright acidity, though Pita is unfortunately no better than the store bought stuff.
Looking next at Fesenjan, decent but a far cry from Zaytoon in terms of taste or consistency, dueling Desserts perform well whether one prefers thick Baklava with Walnuts or large-grain Rice Pudding with Whipped Cream on top that eats light like the versions in France.
Previously located inside Suite 242 of 6380 South Valley View Boulevard, but now sold retail at a pair of sites in town, Chocolate Chip Cookie Company continues to serve Las Vegas’ best collection of locally made rounds.
Focused on “Bringing the Cookie Back,” and also available only by delivery, it was late 2018 that Jovan Mesa-Glennon and husband John opened their small store and business continues to grow today.
Baking everything from scratch, Jovan’s secret recipes yielding the sort of Cookie that blossoms a bit around the edge before becoming crisp, it was based on prior experience that two-dozen were ordered for work, the business’ namesake buttery with just enough Vanilla and Cinnamon to perfume the palate while chunks of Bittersweet Chocolate are partially melted throughout the center.
Prioritizing customer safety by individually bagging each Cookie at no extra cost Peanut Butter Chip wins guests over by way of natural flavors and gooey spots in juxtaposition to sugary Toffee Chocolate Chip that is also slightly salty and heterogeneous from bite-to-bite.
Titling their version of the Snickerdoodle a “Cinnamon and Sugar Cookie,” the granulated top plus plenty of Butter making each mouthful sugary and moist, fans should be sure to follow @thechocolatechipcookieco on Social Media where specials such as White Chocolate and Craisins or Banana Walnut are frequently announced.

Now with 9 months of experience Bar Bohème has matured into exactly the sort of Restaurant Las Vegas’ Art’s District needs it to be, the collaboration between Chef James Trees and investors pairing down its menu while simultaneously hitting full-stride in terms of service at 1401 South Main Street.
Designed as a Mediterranean-inspired French Bistro, think florals and lots of light with white tablecloths, early 2026 now sees Trees and team offering an $80 four course Prix Fixe in addition to a la carte options ranging from Northern-style French Onion Soup made with Beer to a light Lobster Salad decorated by Avocados and Citrus.
Continuously evolving thanks to customer comments and a commitment to excellence, Pastry Chef Jake Yergensen’s Baguette now the best in Sin City after attending classes in Paris, all guests begin with an Amuse on this night featuring faultless Gougeres alongside Trout Rillette made the right way.
Allowing guests to choose their own plates, though a proper “tasting menu” is coming soon, course one includes the aforementioned Soup or Lobster while fans of Foie Gras will find the current Terrine flavored like Apple Pie meets Marzipan alongside golden Brioche Soldiers stacked and ready for spreading.
Not willing to forgo Pate de Campagne, simple and texturally compelling with moderate minerality, it was after a pair of cleverly-named Cocktails that Mains included Pâte à Choux Dumplings beneath Brown Butter charred Sprouts, classic Boeuf Bourguignon and Roasted Chicken bolsterd by Thigh Meat Farce and Mushroom Bread Pudding.
Heartfelt and labor intensive, James’ time with Heston Blumenthal showing in faultless Frites, fans of Duck will find the current version rosy-red and rooted in Celery Root that serves to balance a slight sweetness from Pears and Quatre Espice.
Smartly moving Macarons to a Petit Fours platter, along with top-tier Financiers and Caramels, new Desserts include Chocolate Cremeux and warm Pear Cake joining Chef Yergensen’s Parisian-quality Brest and Tarte Tatin with Foie Gras Ice Cream.
Still surprising fans as well as skeptics with Food far better than the typical “celebrity” Restaurant, Shaquille O’Neal’s involvement seeing talented locals tapped from the start, it was via ezCater that timely delivery was seamlessly coordinated at a budget well-within guidelines.
Offering over two-dozen flavors daily, in addition to freshly-fried minis available in a keto-friendly fashion, any discussion of Wicked Donuts should begin with the base, buttery Brioche or toothsome Cake enjoyable beneath tangy Buttermilk or Vanilla Glaze, though upgrading to Chocolate, Blueberry or Maple is highly advised.
Eschewing Artificial Colors or Preservatives, a fact pertinent to Cream-filled choices, suffice it to say that most will not last long whether it be decadent “Blue Suede Banana” or the more nuanced Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake.
Executing Ansel’s invention well, available filled, topped or coated in Sugar, Caramel Sutra continues to impress in its subtlety while “Puffernuts,” Crullers and Cubes add even more variability to the collection.
Founded in early 2021 Milpa has come a long way since it took over the former Elia space at 4226 South Durango Drive, Chef DJ Flores’ embrace of traditional techniques with an eye towards health-conscious cooking earning a James Beard Award semi-finalist nod in 2024.

Zamboni Pizza – Sausage, Old School Pepperoni, Roasted Red Peppers, Mike’s Hot Honey, Mozzarella Cheese
86th Street Square Pie – Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato Sauce, Romano Cheese, Olive Oil, Old School Pepperoni
Brooklyn Jr. – Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato Sauce, Romano Cheese, Olive Oil
The Bleecker Street – Italian Sausage, Garlic, Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato Sauce, Basil, Olive Oil
Serving Las Vegas for over forty years one might well assume Metro Pizza has the take-out game down to a science, and even now with more competition than ever John Arena and Sam Facchini’s Pizzeria remains irreproachable in terms of customer service and quality.
Featuring locations North, South, East and West, with another soon to come at the Convention Center, it was minutes prior to 12:00am that delivery arrived porting Food, utensils, plates and condiments, each carefully packaged.
Never ignoring “Old New York,” or in this case “The Bleecker Street” with a classic trio plus Sausage on voluptuous Crust, “The Zamboni” offers two Meats, Roasted Peppers and a generous drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey while Metro’s cold-fermented 86th Street remains defiantly light despite its thickness even after traveling whether topped with Cup n’ Char Pepp or Mushrooms.
No less impressive with Wings and Knots there is a reason John and Sam have been successfully serving Las Vegas for so long, a good part of it skill and doing things the right way but also by focusing on the customer to deliver on their promises for budgets big or small.
Family owned and operated from the start, Dominic Sang bringing Dad’s recipes from a Texas Doughnuttery to Sin City in October 2015, guests entering Glaze Doughnuts will notice little has since changed about the shop in nearly a decade while their soft base and creative toppings earn “Best of Las Vegas” accolades annually.
Located on Fort Apache Road, fair prices and friendly service undoubtedly part of Glaze’s appeal, what the shop lacks in selection is more than made up for in quality compared to the likes of Dunkin, Krispy Kream or other spots nearby.
Largely built on Yeast Rings, though undersized Fritters perform admirably, fans of simplicity will find Maple Frosting far more subtle than most while Chocolate and Vanilla Glaze are also of excellent quality with or without additions such as Cereal or Candy.
Not over-the-top, but balanced and complex, Black and White Sesame dazzle atop a fluffy leavened base while Vanilla with Oreos do the same, though if one is seeking Glaze’s top choice the decision comes down to Blueberry Cinnamon Toast, Churros and Horchata or Matcha Green Tea Pistachio that delivers sweetness beneath toasty notes.
Now with two Las Vegas locations, long after franchises debuted in Florida decades ago, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has been serving the Big Island for over forty years with a name that plays homage to burrows that carried Beans down the mountains in the 19th century.
Part of “the 9th Island” since 2022 on West Charleston, the menu expanding with time to include specialty Lattes and Breakfast Sandwiches on King’s Hawaiian Rolls, fans of Hawaiian Coffee will find several blends as well as 100% Kona by the cup.
Far better sourced than Dutch Bros or Starbucks, a few Koolers and Smoothies a sign of modern times, Cold Brew is smooth with soft acidity and doesn’t dilute thanks to frozen Coffee Ice Cubes while “Twisted Malasada Donuts” served warm are soft, springy and not overly sweet thanks to an abundance of Cinnamon.
Short for “Taiwan Professional,” TP Tea opened its first Las Vegas location during summer of 2025, the brand founded twenty years prior touting forty years of experience dating to the original creator of Bubble Milk Tea.
A serene spot just east of Decatur on Spring Mountain, prices similar to the plethora of nearby spots, TP choices range from classics to Mangonada with a few Coffee creations speckled amidst Osmanthus, Green and Black Teas.
Predictably photogenic, both the shop and their drinks, Food options include “Egg Pancakes” as individual bites with or without Lemon Custard that are doughy and unmemorable while a “Coffee Black Tea with Avocado Crema” suggested with 50% Sugar sounds fancy but tastes mostly like the bitter parts of Coldbrew with too much sweetness and a woody finish.
Now part of the Las Vegas Valley for over fifteen years Monta Japanese Noodle House can be considered the elder-statesman of Sin City Ramen, its location back near Raku undoubtedly part of its original recognition and lasting legacy even as dozens of similar spots have opened from Summerlin to Henderson.
Still serving four styles of broth made on-site daily, awards from 2011 quietly hanging near the door of a small space that remains consistently busy, an off-hours visit is encouraged for those who do not wish to wait for one of just twenty-one seats including three at the counter.
Nearly doubled in price from its earliest days, though still cheaper than the likes of Momofuku, Marufuku or Silver Lake, guests are first enticed by Appetizers ranging from Fried Chicken to Octopus Balls served on an Aebleskiver pan with dancing Bonito Flakes.
Not the sort of place rewarming Gyoza from a box, three fillings all offered at the same price and folded by hand before a trip to the pan, Noodles arrive in a large bowl either thin or medium-thick and appropriately springy with the Tonkotsu Broth not quite so complex as Ramen Boys on Jones but the Shoyu clean and assertive even before mixing in a big glob of Togarashi-infused Paste.
Born in Logan Utah Crumbl took the city by storm, their Instagramable rounds offered in thirty stores across six states by 2019 and now in all fifty states with six in Las Vegas including the Durango location opened in May 2020.
Created by Sawyer Hemsley and Jason McGowan, rapid expansion through franchising yielding mixed results from store to store as evidence by Social Media, it was after several variable experiences that the westside storefront proved competent, the staff exceedingly pleasant while describing each choice.
Undoubtedly popular in part due to photogenicity, though a sterile interior oversells the fact that everything is made from scratch, the first thing those entering in 2026 will notice is Crumbl’s expansion to six “Classic” flavors in addition to four “Weekly” flavors, though occasionally one may find “Mystery Cookies” including specials from the previous week.
Still a young company, so much success despite only starting in September 2017 certainly enviable, best bites came from specials that included now-ubiquitous “Dubai Chocolate,” a nice texture with complexity added by Kataifi while Semi Sweet Chocolate Chip is executed as it aught to be.
Offered onsite or via delivery from 8am until at least 10pm Monday through Saturday it was next that “Brownie Batter” took on the namesake before “Chocolate Crumb Cookie” put an Oreo-impregnated round beneath lots of Frosting.
Again finding “Cake” concepts better than the Cookies by which crumbl made their name suffice it to say “Peanut Butter & Jelly” is indulgent while “Brown Sugar Cinnamon Cookie featuring Pop-Tarts” and “Strawberry Crumb Cake” deliver on their nomenclature.
